Mortgage Banker
Also known as a direct mortgage lender. A mortgage banker or lender underwrites, closes and funds loans in his or her own name and is usually more competitive than a mortgage broker in terms of fees to the borrower. A mortgage banker will generally offer better pricing which provides better benefits to both the borrower and loan officer. All Southwest Funding mortgage retail branch offices operate as Mortgage Bankers, but have the ability to broker any loan the want.
