Mortgage License Requirements
While Southwest Funding operates as a mortgage banker and can fund its own loans, the company is not a depository institution and therefore we must comply with the requirements of the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act. All persons originating mortgage loans must be licensed with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Depending upon state, loan processors may also be required to be licensed with the NMLS.Southwest Funding maintains the company and branch licenses with the NMLS. While we cannot take the required CE courses and tests for you, we do help get your license issued or transferred on the NMLS. We understand the process can be confusing. We are here to help and keep you on the right track.
Our compliance department is here to help you gain your license by making sure you comply with the mortgage license requirements of both the SAFE act and NMLS. We will provide you with expert advice and guidance that we have gleaned from 15 years of experience to help you with the process of transferring your license to the NMLS..
We have the right contacts within the state banking agencies to get things done. State specific licensing requirements for our licensed states are available on our Branch Resource Center. In our Branch Resource Center you can find all of the documents and forms you will need to run your mortgage branch efficiently and with ease, along with guidance and training on specific issues facing mortgage bankers.
It is our job to make sure that you have time to run your business, instead of having to deal with the myriad of regulations, paperwork and compliance rules that are increasingly prevalent in the mortgage industry.
Take advantage of our mortgage branch opportunity by applying now!
